Hamilton High School West is a four-year comprehensive high school college and career ready program with approximately 1300 students encompassing grades 9-12.  As a comprehensive high school, a wide variety of courses are offered to address individual student needs, which include special education, technical and vocational studies, business and Information Technology, college preparatory, and advanced placement programs.  We currently have 15 Advanced Placement courses for which our students could receive college credit.   Hamilton West is proud of its efforts to address not only the academic but also the social and emotional needs of students through a wide variety of activities.

Academically, Hamilton West is proud that the Class of 2022 had over 20 students who were recognized for the President's Award in Educational Excellence and 24 students who were recognized for the President's Award for Educational Achievement. Students in the Class of 2022 received over $1,000,000 in school and local community scholarships and awards. $80,000 will be awarded by the NJ Stars Scholarship Program. Approximately 34% of graduating seniors plan to attend a four-year college or university, 30% plan to attend a two-year college, 4.1% plan to attend a technical school or apprenticeship, 29% plan to enter the work force, and 2% plan to join the military. A total of 64% of the Class of 2022 will continue on to some form of post graduation formal education. 

The student body is offered a wide variety of extracurricular activities in addition to the athletic program, which involves over 360 student athletes per season.  There are 21 varsity teams across over 15 different sports.  Approximately 30 student clubs and activities offer students opportunities to expand their social experiences. Hamilton High School West focuses on character education reflecting our climate.  

Hamilton West is also very fortunate to have both the assistance and commitment of involved parent groups.  The PTA, athletic booster clubs, and Band Boosters offer a valuable service not only to our students but also to the staff as well.  Our students experience much success on the athletic fields, in the arts, and in the academic areas with the support of our many parent groups. 

Hamilton West has a dedicated teaching staff.  They have made a commitment to the students not only to teach the broad and inclusive curriculum but also to assist them in their overall development through their teenage years as they navigate the 21st century.  The guidance staff has made the commitment to address numerous social issues confronting students, in addition to serving as academic and career counselors.  Our professional development program has been recognized as “outstanding” by the State Department of Education.  The teaching staff has been trained in instructional theory, learning styles, thinking skills, cooperative learning, computer technology, and classroom management.  The overall commitment of the staff to keep abreast of the recent trends in education and their dedication to the students of Hamilton West help create a positive learning environment for all students. 

Built in 1929, Hamilton High School West takes a great deal of PRIDE of our long standing TRADITION   of producing EXCELLENT students to serve our community. We will continue to update our facilities and course offerings to meet the needs of our students and community. We look forward to the continued success of our school in the future.
