1. Complete online Application
2. Inform School Counselor in order for transcripts to be sent to MCCC.
3. Study for the Accuplacer!!
4. Take Accuplacer test. HHW hosting a trip on January 5th. Sign up with Mrs. Fisher in Guidance. Please sign up on your Naviance Account after you have applied to MCCC.
5. Register for classes.
Accuplacer Test Score Information
Students are exempt from taking the Mercer County Placement Test if they have scores higher than the following:
- SAT 450 or higher
- PARCC Level 4 or 5
- ACT 22 or higher
- For students who does not meet the above scores, the will take the Accuplacer Next Generation Reading Test. Based on those scores along with High School GPA, they will be placed in the appropriate English level.
- Math:
- Option 1-Non-STEM Major. Students can register their course of choice (MAT 120, 125, 115 or 140) without taking a placement test. There will not be an option to remediate at NROC or dropping to a foundation course.
- Option 2- STEM Major-
- MAT 146 automatic entry for students who successfully completed 3 years of high school Math, including Algebra II or MAT 146 Placement Test.
- MAT-151 automatic entry for students who successfully completed 4 years of high school Math, including Pre-Calculus or MAT 151 Placement Test.
- All students attending the Placement Test Trips MUST bring in a high school transcript. This will allow proper placement based on GPA.
· Students who do not take the SAT or achieve the required PARCC test scores will have to take the college placement test (Accuplacer) to determine placement.
· The above SAT and PAARC cut score revisions become effective for placement in the spring 2018 semester and apply to SAT tests taken since March 2016.
